The Solar System and the Sun

The Solar System and the Sun: Looking for the Solar system GK. Do you want to study the basic information about the Sun? Here are the post about the Solar System and the Sun.

The Solar System and Sun

Our Solar System

The solar system comprises the sun 8 planets, their Satellites, and other non-stellar objects, which are believed to have been developed from the condensation of gases and other bodies.

The sun is at the center of the solar system and all the planets revolve around it in an elliptical orbit.

Sun is the Nearest star to the Earth

The size of the Solar system has been estimated to at about 105

Components of the Solar System

Our Solar system consists of

  1. The Sun
  2. Eight planets and their satellites
  3. Asteroids
  4. Meteors
  5. Comets
  6. Drifting particles (InterPlanetary dust and electrically charged gases called Plasma)

Some of the Concept associated with the Sun

Solar Winds

The sun is continuously emitting streams of proton in all direction either as spiral streams called solar Wind or bouts of incandescents material called Solar Flares.

Solar flares being hot ionized gases pose danger to satellite Communication.

The constituents particle of the solar wind is trapped by the Earth’s magnetic field and enter the Earth’s upper atmosphere as Aurora.

It is described as Aurora Borealis in the Northern hemisphere and Aurora Australis in the southern hemisphere.

Plages and Sunspots

The surface of the Sun is continuously changing. Bright spots are called Plages and dark spots are called Sunspots. The Sunspots dark regions years. These spots greatly influence the global climate.
