Hindi Diwas 2020 (हिंदी दिवस) is falling on 14th September Monday. India and all Hindi speaking people around the world are going to celebrate their Mother Tongue day. Annual Hindi Diwas 2020
As you know Hindi is the fourth largest speakable language around the world. Hindi comes just after English, Spanish, and Mandarin language. Also, most of the people around the world understand the Hindi Language. If we will talk about Hindi Writing, the Government of India has adopted Hindi as their official language. Most of the Indian states having their mother tongue Hindi. Hence, India Government celebrates 14 September as हिंदी दिवस Hindi Diwas.
Hindi Diwas History
The history of Hindi is about 1000 years old. But it was the year 1918. National Father Mahatma Gandhi was at हिन्दी साहित्य सम्मेलन 1918. In his speech, he purposed to make Hindi as the National Language. After that, the movement for the Hindi language was started.
Bharat became a republic Country on 15th August 1947. A big Indian panel was formed for the discussion of the Constitution. A situation came, where a demand was started for the National Official Language. On 14 September 1949, a big discussion happened regarding the official National language. However, the Parliament concluded by setting Hindi as the National Language.
The national language of the union will be Hindi and the script Devanagari. The form of the numerals used for state purposes of the Union shall be international.In Article 343 of Chapter 17 (1) of the Indian constitution
Beohar Rajendra Simha, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Kaka Kalelkar, Maithili Sharan Gupt, and Seth Govind Das were the key people. But Beohar Rajendra Simha’s birth day falls on 14 September. So, it was decided to celebrate 14 September as हिंदी दिवस. Hence, in 1953, the first Hindi Diwas was celebrated.
14 September Annual Hindi Day
As per the census 2001, 40% Indian speaks Hindi Bhasha. However, the 2011 census report mentioned that 41% of people speak Hindi. In the last few days, India is celebrating Hindi Day everywhere. On 14 September our Prime Minister addresses the nation for the improvement of the Hindi language. Also, the President presents the Rajbhasha awards.
Schools, Colleges, Universities organize special Hindi Day Competition. The Government Of India conducts Hindi Diwas’ essay, poetry competition on the MyGov website
